Chicago, February 2005/--
Like any other organizations, non-profits need to mange data and
present a positive image to their clients - in this case their donors.
By being more efficient, having correct data and marketing tools,
non-profits can not only generate more donations, but also make
better use of their volunteer time as well as their funding.

was down to earth, not heady and took the time to speak on my

Non-profits increasingly seek out database solutions
as their workloads grow, commonly expressing a need for more precise
internal management. However, with fiscal conservancy in mind, non-profit
groups are often reluctant to invest in improving their internal
efficiency, preferring to direct budgets to immediate expenses and
their target cause. In spite of good intentions, this approach can
be particularly counter-productive for the association that is plagued
with inefficiencies. By investing in data-driven solutions, staff
can make better use of donor contributions, lending to the overall
success organization in the long term.
Larger Entities

It is imperative for an organization as ubiquitous
as the Salvation Army to utilize management software applications.
For the last 2 years, the Salvation Army USW headquarters have utilized
a Chicago Software Solutions engineered PDA application for supervisors
to quickly log and distribute work orders. The application triggers
emails to task assignees upon synchronization, automating the distribution
of work orders and providing desktop management of outstanding and
completed orders. Automating the otherwise manual distribution of
labor and seamlessly pulling recorded tasks into a the desktop database
tool has greatly streamlined the internal workings of the department.
Small Operations

Chicago Global Donors Network (CGDN) is a small
non-profit that assists in improving the welfare of people by addressing
the complex conflicts raging in the world, from the humanitarian
crisis in Sudan to violent conflicts in the Middle East to the AIDS
epidemic in Africa.

From Contact Entry
Immediately after enter contacts or
donations into the database, database users at the CGDN print
customized letters and envelopes.

Looking to capitalize on their database potential,
CGDN approached Chicago Software Solutions to build a database utility
that manages contacts, donations, events and dynamically generates
letters, envelopes, call lists, mailing lists, event lists, name
tags and other essential reports.
"With the new application that CSS developed for
us, we'll be able to learn and record more information about our
members, register attendees for our events, send targeted mailings,
as well as track member participation in our programs and donations.
We now have the database we need to grow as an organization and
do it more efficiently", said Dimitra Tasiouras, Executive Director
of the Chicago Global Donors Network.
Chicago Software Solutions continues to support
local and global community efforts, offering discounts to select
organizations. CSS has had the opportunity to assist charity organizations
in data management solutions, market presentation and providing
tools to better donor services.
